Honouring Mental Health Awareness Month: Work It Out...
Its mental health awareness month, mental health awareness needs to be acknowledged every day. As each day presents an obstacle that we have to learn to overcome, which in turn fosters resilience, and strengthens our mental well-being. Personally how I keep my mental health in check, is to engage in routine exercise. I noticed that exercising for me, is definitely a mood elevator. I can honestly say that on the days that I skip my work out I notice a significant difference in my well-being. As a result, I Introduce a 7-minute HIT (High Intensity Training) each morning, which boosts my energy, and an overall sense of happiness and relaxation.
By recognizing the importance of mental health on a daily basis, we cultivate a proactive mindset that allows us to navigate life's challenges more effectively. Building resilience becomes a continuous process, equipping us with the tools to cope with stress, adapt to change, and maintain a positive outlook. It is through this daily acknowledgment that we create a supportive culture where mental health is valued, prioritized, and integrated into all aspects of our lives.
Mothers Day Event
Help Inn Folk attended the ‘Spread The Love Mother’s Day brunch. The event was broadcasted on 11 Alive News, I was interviewed by the beautiful and talented Erica Murphy. This event is held every year to honour and support mothers who have lost a child to violence. Each year, Terrell Johnnies organises this beautiful event for the mothers, its Help Inn Folk's third year attending. Help Inn Folk provides ‘ in the moment’ emotional support to the mothers on the day. These women are a pillar of strength and I’m so grateful to see their transformations year after year. When asked what has been the source of motivation and resilience? The resounding response, its God.
I just want to acknowledge incredible women who embody motherhood, regardless of giving birth. Motherhood is about love, care, and nurturing. It extends to teachers, mentors, caregivers, and adoptive parents. They listen, guide, and believe in us. Thank you to all the amazing women who shape our lives.
Let us carry the spirit of Mental Health Awareness Month forward, advocating for mental well-being every day, and fostering a world that thrives on empathy, understanding, and resilience. As we embrace Mental Health Awareness Month, it's a powerful time to shine a light on an issue that affects millions worldwide. This month provides an opportunity to promote understanding, eliminate stigma, and prioritize mental well-being in our communities. Together, let's work towards a society that values mental health as much as physical health. “Mothers the embodiment of Gods love strength and unwavering support“ In Memory of Sylvia Kissiedu
